Generous subsidies for sustainable energy<\/h2>\n

At the beginning of June 2021, the new Renewable Energy Expansion Act (EAG) was passed to facilitate the expansion of renewable energy. The goal is to cover 100 percent of Austria’s electricity needs from renewable sources by 2030. According to ORFon.at, this will require 27 terawatt hours of additional power generation capacity. Plans call for 11 TWh of photovoltaics, ten TWh of wind power, five TWh of hydropower and one TWh of biomass. In addition to a market premium model, the EAG also provides for investment subsidies, for example for the conversion of plants and the expansion of electricity storage facilities. Grid access for green power plants will be simplified by the new law.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget grid and system protection<\/h3>\n

When building or expanding systems for the generation of renewable energy (PV, wind, etc.), a grid and system protection is required above a certain system size, which safely disconnects the system from the grid in the event of a fault. The NA003-M64 from TELE Haase combines all standards for this task in one device and can therefore be used internationally. It consists of a protective relay, which measures the mains voltage and frequency and generates the signal for disconnection from the mains, as well as one or two coupling switches, which ensure the actual disconnection from the mains. Short-term grid disturbances – “fault ride through” (FRT) – may not disconnect the generator from the grid. Depending on the type and power of the power generator, different requirements apply here as well, which can be adapted via parameterization in NA003-M64.<\/p>\n
