Local EMS – optimal for time-critical IoT solutions<\/h2>\n

One:solutions develops IoT solutions based on new mobile technologies. In its latest project, the company is using the technology for smart lighting control at Stadtwerke Feldkirch. The town in Vorarlberg was one of the first municipalities to convert its street lighting to LED in 2011 \u2013 and all other Vorarlberg municipalities are now gradually following suit. In addition to the energy-saving LED technology, however, it is primarily the intelligent control of the light cycles that makes the street lighting “smart”. And this comes from one:solutions \u2013 manufactured by TELE-EMS in Vienna.<\/p>\n

Centralized and automated lighting control<\/h3>\n

The IoT lighting control system is designed to function stably and reliably in harsh outdoor environments. Via an open API, the data can be directly integrated into the user’s IT system. EMS at TELE Haase in Vienna \u2013 prompt and flexible<\/h3>\n

Since IoT projects usually have to be implemented very quickly, a local EMS provider is optimal for such projects. In the fall of 2020, one:solutions received an order from Stadtwerke Feldkirch for a prototype, and after successful tests in the field, the order for several hundred units was signed and sealed. In a very short time, one:solutions developed the series product in TELE’s FactoryHub and had the required batches manufactured via TELE-EMS. Acceptance took place on February 2021 and the rollout in Vorarlberg could begin.<\/p>\n

Local production in high quality<\/h3>\n

For one:solutions, this was already the 3rd successful run of a series production via EMS at TELE Haase. “So we can fall back on existing processes and the process has become more professional. Thanks to TELE, we also know what is important in PCB design so that series production can run smoothly,” says a satisfied Karl Wurstbauer, Founder of one:solutions. And this despite the fact that material procurement has currently become very difficult worldwide due to Covid-19. “In addition, new requirements arose spontaneously shortly before the start of production. We had to adapt the software at the last second and test it again. Optimal lighting control \u2013 even during summer storms.<\/h3>\n

In intelligent lighting control, sensors are used on the street lamp or on the distribution box for several lamps to measure the lighting conditions. The control module is also integrated here. The customer defines certain threshold values and times of day at which the light should change. If a defined threshold is exceeded, the IoT module from one:solutions triggers a control signal \u2013 the light is switched on or off. The sensor modules are battery-powered and therefore maintenance-free for at least five years. The control units are supplied with power and switch the lamps. For convenient control, Stadtwerke Feldkirch has set up an application with a web interface. With the smart lighting control system, even challenging conditions such as summer thunderstorms can be mastered in the future, and the lighting switches on even when it is dark during the day due to the weather.
