Start-up suppression for DC motors
- Applications:
- Renewable Energy
- Wind Power
- Series/Measures
- Time
- Task:
- The starting resistor of a DC motor has to be bypassed for regular operations, but no additional control voltage is available.
- Solution
- The on-delayed timing relay controls the bypass of the starting resistor of a DC motor and switches off the protective relay and, thus, the resistor after a defined period of time. The timing relay is operated using the motor operating voltage ranging from 150 to 440V DC.
- Use/value:
- - Timing relay supplied with power directly via the motor’s supply
- No additional costs for a power supply unit
- Space savings
