Simply cut energy costs

Merely saving energy offers electricity customers only limited scope for cutting their energy bills. Apart from the purely consumption-related costs, business customers are particularly affected by load peaks that drive up their monthly bills.
The standing charge for electricity and grid usage is set by the highest load peak in the accounting period, regardless of how often this occurred. The obvious solution then is to consume the required power in a way that avoids any rare, and in particular, unnecessary load peaks.

TELE

The ECO from TELE monitors electricity consumption and keeps the random effect of peak loading out of business users' bills. The savings potential resides in those loads that, in the event of a peak, can be conveniently disconnected for a certain time without loss of comfort or that can be delayed for use at a later and more favorable time. As soon as the monitored load system draws less power, the previously disconnected loads are gradually re-connected to resume operation as required. The energy consumed is not in fact reduced, but optimally distributed. The result is that the power consumption of the monitored load system as a whole is much more continuous overall – so that the effective demand factor falls.

Apart from reducing your operating costs, the ECO also provides a low-cost solution to integrating new machines by eliminating the otherwise inevitable increase in demand factor. By reducing coincident demand from all loads, it is possible to consume more for the same demand factor.

Application areas:
catering and hotels; industrial and manufacturing operations (plastics, metals, foodstuffs), offices, leisure facilities

Typical switchable loads: boiler, plate warmer, towel dryer, refrigerator, airconditioner, floor heating, roof gutter heating, swimming pool heating, sauna, electric heating.

Calculation example WienEnergie 11/2005 (Vienna Energy)

Standing electricity charge = Charging Value x Peak load / Year
Charging Value Standing electricity charge: 36,336417 € / kW
Standing electricity charge by 200kW Load peak = 605,61 €
Standing electricity charge by 140kW Load peak = 423,92 €

Standing grid usage charge = Charging Value x Peak load / Year
Charging Value standing grid usage charge : 25,08 € / kW
Standing grid usage charge by 200kW Load peak = 418,00 €
Standing grid usage charge by 140kW Load peak = 292,60 €

If the peak load is reduced by 60kW, the annual saving in the standing charge for electricity and grid usage amounts to €3,673.08.
